All presentations will be assessed by the judges, and the best presentation awards will be selected based on the
scientific excellence,

The Early Career Scientist Award aims to recognize the major contributions made by early career scientists, and to encourage them to devote to the field of ocean science, especially deep-sea biology. The Local Organizer invites applications from outstanding early career researchers and scientists in the field.
The Local Organizer sponsors travel awards for students and early career scientists of excellent achievements, aiming to encourage them to make onsite presentations in the Symposium. Special acknowledgement goes to Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative (DOSI) for their generous support of 6 more quotas of Travel Awards towards early career deep-sea scientists from Low- and Middle-income Countries to attend the DSBS symposium in Hong Kong.
Financial Aids for Onsite-Participants from Developing and Underdeveloped Countries
To enhance the accessibility of the 17DSBS for excellent students and early career scientists from developing and underdeveloped countries, the Local Organizer offers them financial aids to assist them to make onsite presentations in the Symposium. This will be a good opportunity for students and early-career scientists from these countries to meet a wide range of deep-sea biologists and benefit from the knowledge exchange as well as networking establishment.
